Dangerous products of Estee Lauder – Carcinogens were detected 800 times above the limit

A great deal of concern has been caused by the findings of an independent laboratory in the USA that high amounts of benzene were found in large and care products. According to Reuters, high levels of benzene (carcinogenic chemical) were detected in some brand acne treatments such as Clinique, Estee Lauder, Target Up & Up and Clearasi l owned by Reckitt Benckiser. The independent Valisure laboratory submitted an application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, calling on the regulatory authority to withdraw the products, conduct an investigation and review the cosmetics industry’s instructions as announced by the New Haven, Connecticut-based laboratory. Once the news became known Estee Lauder’s shares fell by 2%. Benzene was also detected in soaps for acne such as Proactiv, PanOxyl, Walgreens and also in the cream for the acne of Walmart Equal Beauty. As noted by this laboratory benzene could be increased to unacceptable levels in both prescription and non-prescription acne treatment products. Reckitt announced that the findings “reflect unrealistic scenarios and not real conditions”, adding that all Clearasil products were safe “when they were used and maintained in accordance with the instructions on their labels”. Estee Lauder announced that Clinique uses benzene peroxide in a product which is “safe for use as predicted”. Colossians such as Target and Walmart did not want to make any comment while the Food and Drug Organization FDA have not answered the report of the Valisure laboratory that made the revelations yet. This carcinogen has already been found in many consumer products, including sunscreen, hand disinfectants and dry shampoos, leading to recalling products manufactured by companies such as Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson. But benzene detection in acne treatment products was new in relation to other cases. “The benzene we found in sunscreen and other consumer products were impurities derived from contaminated ingredients. However, benzene in benzene peroxide products comes from benzene peroxide itself,” said Valisure’s co-founder and president, David Light. Valisure tests showed that some products could have a concentration of benzene 800 times above the permitted FDA limit.
