Danai Pappa: ‘My Dad Was Addicted, His Condition Was Difficult’

“My dad was absent for most of my life until he passed away,” revealed Danai Pappa. Invited to Pantelis Toutountzi’s “Make Up Stories,” the renowned actress spoke about her father, who had left this world and his addiction, which she learned about later in life. “My dad was absent for most years until he left this life. We couldn’t have contact; it was very difficult. Things were happening that shouldn’t,” the actress initially stated. She added, “His condition was tough, with substance abuse issues… So, it was better for me too, I understood that over time. Yes, he was addicted. My family tried to protect me because I was young and didn’t understand anyway.” Danai Pappa continued, “Later, when I realized and discussed it with my family, they told me stories, and I understood that perhaps it was better to have an image of a person in good standing. They protected me from that side of him. Initially, I didn’t like it because I didn’t know what was happening. I had doubts inside me and couldn’t comprehend why.
