The title of the world’s longest suspended bridge is held by the Sky Bridge 721 in the Czech Republic. This pedestrian suspension bridge, which stretches 721 meters long, is located near the winter sports and hiking resort of Dolní Morava. It connects two peaks of the Kralicky Snezník mountain, offering breathtaking views. The resort is approximately 200 kilometers east of Prague, close to the Polish border. The Sky Bridge 721 starts from the Salé Slaměnka and ends at the slope of Chlum Hill. Visitors enter this structure at an altitude of 1,125 meters above sea level and exit ten meters higher. Its construction required 1,030 cubic meters of concrete, resulting in a total weight of 405 tons (the combined weight of the cables was 405 tons and that of auxiliary structures was 20 tons). Crossing its entire length of 721 meters, visitors will reach the highest point at 95 meters above the ground or 1,116 meters above sea level. The bridge took two years to construct and cost $8.4 million. It also features an educational trail titled ‘Bridge of Time’: a two-kilometer, 90-minute walk that takes visitors through the history of the region from 1938 to 2021, including games and augmented reality elements. Prior to the construction of the Sky Bridge, the title was held by the Arouca Bridge in Portugal, which spans 516 meters.
