Cyprus: The fire that left 4 dead was brought under complete control

The fire was brought under complete control in the mountainous areas of Limassol and Larnaca, Cyprus.

The largest fire in the annals of the Republic of Cyprus, as described by the Director of the Department of Forests, also left behind victims, as four charred bodies were found on the Street. This is one of the first information on the four Egyptians who have been missing since Saturday.

In the case, the police proceeded to arrest a 67-year-old suspect. The fire reportedly started from a field on his property. The man in question was taken to the Limassol District Court on Sunday, July 4th, and ordered his eight-day detention.

The EU’s readiness to help Cyprus was expressed by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, in a Twitter post.

“Our thoughts are with the victims of the fires in Cyprus, To their loved ones we send our deepest condolences,” Charles Michel said, adding that “the EU is ready to provide the President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades and the people of Cyprus with all kinds of assistance”.
