Cyprus – Anastasiadis: We would like greater clarity from the UN General Secretary on Famagusta

I would like the UN General Secretary to be clearer regarding the issues of Famagusta and in general, said the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiadis.

Asked to refer to the content of the draft report of the UN General Secretary, the President of the Republic of Cyprus said that “what is being recorded is being studied point by point and any comments will be transmitted within the next few days”.

Asked about the UN Secretary General’s references to “equal inherent rights”, Mr. Anastasiadis said that “it is known that both the Communication of February 11, 2014, and the 1960 Constitution recognize a form of rights inherent in the people of Cyprus whether they are Turkish Cypriots or Greek Cypriots “.
