Critical Condition for 19-Year-Old After Severe Car Accident Near Serres

A severe car accident occurred on Saturday (10.05.2025) on the National Road, about 3.5 kilometers outside Serres heading towards Thessaloniki. The incident happened at 4:00 AM when a 19-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle on the Serres-Thessaloniki National Road, crashing into metal barriers and flipping off the road. Following the violent collision, the 19-year-old suffered serious injuries and was transported by an EKAB ambulance to Hippocrates Hospital in critical condition. Firefighters from the Serres Fire Department intervened to extricate him from the vehicle. A 17-year-old passenger in the car was also injured but was taken to Serres General Hospital and is out of danger. The causes of the accident are currently under investigation by the Serres Traffic Department.
