Crete: In hospital 4 year old child who was seriously injured in a car accident

According to Flashnews.gr, the incident took place last night – around 21:30 – on a main street in Frangokastello. A large family of strangers (who even come to Sfakia every year) walked on the side of the road. There were about ten people (since they were two families together), adults and minors, when under unclear circumstances, the 4-year-old child escaped their attention and reached the middle of the road where he was hit by a vehicle. Fortunately the vehicle was short and its speed low, while there was light on the road, meaning the driver’s reaction was more immediate. He was immediately notified by the Sfakion KY and followed literally, all planned, with the result that the little boy has now escaped danger, despite his injuries. The child’s family was to depart Chania on the 16th but now developments will prolong the programming, at least for the children’s parents.
