In a statement, Karamanlis conveyed his condolences to the family of the late former Foreign Minister. ‘With sadness, respect, and gratitude for his contributions to the nation, I bid farewell to Petros Molyviatis,’ stated Karamanlis, highlighting Molyviatis’ dedication to the country. Greece has lost ‘a remarkable man and a true patriot who fought tirelessly for national rights throughout his life.’ The long career of Molyviatis, from his time in the Diplomatic Corps, his active presence alongside Konstantinos Karamanlis, and his tenure as Foreign Minister, showcased his wisdom, prudence, moderation, sense of duty, and selflessness. Personally, Karamanlis described losing ‘a very close person,’ whose valuable teachings and legacy he will always cherish.
