Costas Francogiannis: I resign for personal reasons – I thank Kyriakos Mitsotakis for his trust and cooperation

“After 5.5 years of service in the position of Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs responsible for Economic Diplomacy and Extroversion, I am currently completing my term of office and handing over my duties,” says Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Extroversion, “This is a matter of one, with absolute respect for the values and principles we have served during this course,” he explains, then expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, “for the trust he has shown me and for the excellent cooperation we have had over the years”. CORVERSE “His guidance has been decisive for the success of our work and the emergence of Greece as a dynamic and outgoing country” he stresses. Mr. Francogiannis thanks “especially” and the Foreign Minister, George Geraptritis, for his cooperation and support in our joint efforts. “We worked together to promote the national interests of our country and strengthen our international position,” he says. He also gives warm thanks to his colleagues undersecretaries and secretaries-general at the Ministry, to all members of the government, his partners in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and bodies that contributed to the joint work. CORVERSE “Everyone, with his devotion and offering, was an integral part of this joint effort,” he points out. In conclusion, Mr Francogiannis stresses: “I feel very honored to have been able to contribute, through my role, to promoting economic diplomacy, extroversion of the country and attracting significant investments. I am proud of the work we have done together and optimistic about the future of Greece. I leave this position but remain always ready to support our country in any way necessary.” In his letter to the Prime Minister, Mr. Francogiannis explained to Mr. Mitsotakis that the decision of his resignation was “extremely difficult” for him as the 5.5 years of his tenure constituted an extremely creative period and the opportunities that he was given to work to strengthen the extroversion and international presence of the Greek economy are valuable experiences that will always accompany him.
