Coropi: Pre-planned Attack by 51-Year-Old with a Knife – Threatening Notes and Mania to Kill Police

in

New information has come to light regarding the attack carried out by a 51-year-old man on Sunday morning (March 30, 2025), targeting a bus passenger and two police officers in Coropi. Not only had he expressed his intentions through threatening notes left at a greengrocer’s and a paint shop, but he also detailed his plans to create chaos. ‘I will create an incident on the bus, and when the police arrive, I will kill them to become a hero,’ the man wrote in one of the notes. Despite prior knowledge of his intentions, the man attacked a bus passenger, injuring him in the neck and head with his knife, before storming the local police station and injuring two officers. Questions arise about how an armed man could enter the undermanned police station so easily, causing severe injuries to the station chief and an officer on duty. Officers inside attempted to stop him by throwing furniture and even a fire extinguisher until they eventually opened fire, wounding him in the leg. The suspect is currently being treated under guard at KAT Hospital for injuries to his left thigh and calf. Once medically cleared, he will face trial. Meanwhile, the 29-year-old bus passenger with facial trauma is recovering safely, while the injured station chief is hospitalized at 401 Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have ordered an investigation into whether the use of firearms was necessary given the limited manpower at the station. Union representatives suggest that more officers might have subdued the attacker without weapons. The motives behind this violent act remain unclear, despite the man’s history of thefts.
