Corfu: Shocking Discovery of Expired Food in ‘Disgraceful’ Nursing Home

in

New revelations have emerged regarding a nursing home in Corfu where expired food was served to 23 elderly residents. A female employee reports being forced to serve moldy carrots, eggs, and salami, as well as spoiled juices. “It’s criminal; these people are an age group that only needs care,” said the worker, highlighting that the facility collects thousands of euros monthly from families for their loved ones’ meals. Investigations revealed that some of the food supplies had already expired by 2024! Employees claim the director threatened them, saying, “Don’t speak or you’ll lose your job.” Furthermore, a member of the Administrative Board is accused of attacking and assaulting an employee who refused to serve spoiled food to the elderly. “I would go home and vomit from stress,” the employee told Star. During inspections following the complaints, 80 kilograms of expired milk and meat were found on the premises. The Corfu prosecutor has already intervened, and the Administrative Council is expected to meet on Tuesday (10.06.2025).
