Continent: Problems due to strong winds and rain – Tree falls and flooded houses

Powerful are the main feature of the weather this weekend, while intense phenomena have already made their appearance since yesterday Friday (22.11.2024) causing significant problems in . On Friday night the strong winds caused falls of trees and large branches in various areas of Epirus with the fire department receiving a total of 28 calls. According to ERT, 26 tree cuts were carried out throughout the region: 7 in the prefecture of Artas, 8 in the prefecture of Preveza, 6 in the prefecture of Thesprotia and 5 in the prefecture of Ioannina. In addition, the water had to be pumped into a hotel in Metsovo, while in a house in Arta the Fire Department was called as a tent had left the site due to the intense winds and was a danger to the passersers. Fortunately the worst was avoided.
