A major dispute has erupted between two of the largest companies in the coastal shipping sector, Sea Jets and ATTICA, concerning the ferry schedules during the Easter holidays to the islands of the Cyclades. According to Sea Jets, due to increased demand during the festive season, they implemented emergency schedules for Holy Thursday on April 17, 2025, and Easter Monday on April 21, 2025. This decision was made because all available slots on their ships were fully booked on those days. However, this initiative by Sea Jets sparked a reaction from ATTICA, which filed a complaint with the Ministry of Shipping, awaiting formal approval only, demanding that ticket reservations be halted immediately and that Sea Jets be fined. Sea Jets claims that these actions by ATTICA are not just an aggressive business move but also constitute a direct undermining of the role of coastal shipping and show disregard for the needs of thousands of citizens and professionals, especially ahead of the Easter celebrations.
