society stressed, yesterday, the new Minister of Digital Policy, Media and Telecommunications, Nikos Pappas. The stigma of the government for the two industries gave yesterday, mr. Pappas during the investiture ceremony of the portfolio of Telecommunication and Post of the Minister of Infrastructure – Transport, Christos Σπίρτζη.

During his speech, mr. Pappas pointed out that Greece could evolve into a “hub of telecommunications and a reference point for Europe’s relations with the rest of the world”, adding that in order to do this, we need to have modern reliable extended networks.
“It’s the opportunity and the possibility for Greece to get into this wave of technological revolution in terms of reliability and make it in a few years the protagonist of no ουραγό in Europe”, stressed in another part of his speech.
Four actions

Mr. Spirtzis mentioned four actions, which are already under way and is expected to bring positive digital sign for the country.
It is actions, aimed at provision of free broadband to residents of remote islands, the free administered online to first-year students, free of charge connection to people with special needs who belong to vulnerable social and economic groups, and free satellite access of the Greeks belonging to the muslim minority in Thrace.
Making a brief review, mr. Spirtzis referred to the institutional changes for the operation of EETT, on changes to the licensing system of κεραιοσυστημάτων, in the operation of incubator of new companies in ICT, but also in the promotion of the project for the installation of fiber optic network in the country, stressing that they have released funds of €400 million.
Commenting, finally, the very act of creation Ministry’s Digital Policy commented that it is a “request of the technical world of the country, in the world of information technology and telecommunications for decades, there is a Ministry that will have a reference to this space”.
