Climate change: It rained for the first time in the Greenlands

A sudden downpour that erupted last Saturday in the snow-capped mountains of Greenland is of great concern to the scientific community as it rained for the first time, five hundred miles from the Arctic Circle.

The unprecedented heavy rain accelerated the melting of the ice that is in progress in the most sparsely populated country on the planet.

In fact, according to expert estimates, last Sunday, due to the rain, quantities of ice melted seven times greater than the quantities that melt on average daily during this period of time.

According to scientists from the US National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC), the phenomenon is evidence that Greenland is warming rapidly.
