Clean Monday Weather: Rain, Strong Winds, and Temperature Drop Across Greece

Greeks are in for a changeable day today on Clean Monday (03.03.25), with forecasts predicting thunderstorms, snow, and strong winds as temperatures drop significantly nationwide. According to Meteo, showers are expected in Macedonia, eastern mainland areas, Evia, most Aegean islands, and Crete. The likelihood of thunderstorms is heightened in Evia, the Cyclades, and Crete. Snowfall will occur in mountainous and semi-mountainous regions of central and northern Greece. Local showers may develop in the Ionian Islands after midday. By afternoon, weather conditions will improve in northern Greece and subsequently in most areas, leaving the adverse weather phenomena mainly confined to Crete by evening. Temperatures will range from -3°C to 8°C in Western Macedonia, 1°C to 12-13°C in the rest of northern Greece, and vary accordingly across other regions. In the Aegean, northerly winds will intensify to 7 Beaufort levels. Attica can expect periodic showers with snow on Mount Parnitha and Cithaeron. Thessaloniki will see rain improving by midday. Looking ahead, Tuesday will bring localized showers in eastern mainland areas while the rest of Greece enjoys fair weather, followed by sunny intervals and rising temperatures on Wednesday.
