Clean Monday: Celebrating with Truffle Manitarofasolada in Kalambaka

Today marks Clean Monday (03.03.2025), and the cauldrons have been on fire since early morning, preparing the traditional dish in the city of Kalambaka. Alongside this, the unique truffle manitarofasolada is being prepared as Kalambaka has been declared the City of Truffles. The Municipality of Meteora is organizing a gastronomic feast for locals and visitors alike, offering servings of traditional bean soup and truffle manitarofasolada. Speaking to APE, the mayor of Meteora, Leuteries Abramopoulos, emphasized: “We’ve been ready since early morning; the cauldrons are already on fire, and the Municipality of Meteora is set to offer both locals and visitors the traditional bean soup and the now world-famous truffle manitarofasolada. Many happy years and a good Lent to all Greek women and men.”
