A strong response came from the former president of EO.D.AS.AM, Christos Papadimitriou, following the fire attack on the gate of his apartment building on Lykavittos Hill early Sunday morning (May 18, 2025). The explosion occurred shortly before 3:00 AM on Tsimiski Street in Lykavittos. The improvised explosive device consisted of a gas canister and detonators. Speaking to OPEN, Papadimitriou stated that it seems he still bothers some people and warned that the power centers trying to silence him should know he won’t back down or be intimidated. “Whoever fears dies every day. Whoever does not fear dies only once. I fulfilled my duty from the first day to the last with only one goal: finding the truth and holding accountable those responsible for the deaths of 57 souls. Forty days after my resignation, it seems this still bothers them. Let the power centers pursuing my disappearance know that I will neither falter nor ever fear,” he emphasized. It is worth noting that two days before resigning as president of EO.D.AS.AM, Papadimitriou had mentioned receiving death threats, warning that if found dead, it would be due to suicide. Witnesses near the scene reported a powerful explosion. Authorities are combing the area for footage from security cameras to trace the perpetrators who attached the gas canister and detonator with tape to the building’s entrance, causing only material damage.
