Christos Kougiyas: Emotional Tribute to His Late Father – ‘I Would Have Wished You Many Years’

For years, Christos Kougiyas celebrated his father’s name day. This year, however, he faces the pain of loss after his father, Alekos Kougiyas, passed away following a fierce battle with cancer. Together with his sister from Evi Batidou, Christos is navigating life without their beloved father. In an emotional post marking the day, the 23-year-old shared a clip from one of his father’s interviews with Elena Papavasileiou. In this excerpt, Alekos Kougiyas expressed his dreams of living long enough to walk his daughter down the aisle and attend court sessions with his children. He humorously added that if they all made it to the courtroom together, he’d fill it with cigars. Christos wrote in his tribute, “I would have wished you many years, as I do every year, at 12.” Additionally, Christos addressed financial concerns regarding ongoing legal cases, stating that while criminal cases ended with his father’s passing, civil cases for compensation are causing stress due to unknown economic pressures.
