As Olympiacos celebrates its 100th anniversary, Christos Bafes, the club’s Sports Director, spoke during the ‘Ameso Replay’ show on EOK WebRadio about the events marking this historic milestone. He discussed the special jersey that will be worn during today’s (07/03/2025) game against Partizan and the closure of the centennial celebrations. According to Bafes, while the basketball team hasn’t existed for 100 years, the football department has, making this a celebration of the club’s roots. The commemorative jerseys will honor the first team uniform from the 1949 championship, featuring only white with no additional colors. Additionally, there will be an exhibition of 100 photographs, including 50 basketball players and 50 athletes from all sports disciplines within Olympiacos. Other highlights include family-oriented events like free entry for children under 8, face painting, and the unveiling of a new museum dedicated to the club’s history. Bafes emphasized that Olympiacos isn’t just a team but the largest multisport club in Europe, with countless trophies across various sports. This year marks not only a celebration of achievements but also a reaffirmation of the club’s legacy.
