The Grand Lisboa is located in the city of Macau and is one of its most iconic buildings. This impressive structure is a luxurious hotel with a casino where guests can enjoy exquisite dishes at its award-winning restaurants. The hotel belongs to the company Sociedade de Turismo e Diversões de Macau, or the family of the ‘Casino King’, Stanley Ho. The tycoon, who was one of Asia’s richest men, passed away in 2020 after a full life. The hotel captures the attention of passersby and visitors alike, mainly due to its unique design resembling a lotus flower floating on a golden balloon. The Grand Lisboa opened its doors in 2007, designed by architects Dennis Lau and Ng Chun Man. Standing at 261 meters tall, it offers 431 suite rooms across its 47 floors. Additionally, the Grand Lisboa features one of the world’s most luxurious casinos, offering a vast variety of gambling games. The casino has over 800 tables for games like baccarat, poker, roulette, and blackjack, along with more than 1,000 slot machines, attracting billionaires from around the globe, primarily from China and Hong Kong. The hotel is also renowned for its high-end gastronomy, particularly the famous ‘Robuchon au Dôme’ which has been awarded three Michelin stars. Moreover, the casino boasts the largest wine collection in Macau, with over 17,000 labels, and hosts ‘Stanley Ho’s Star’, a 218.08-carat diamond, one of the largest in the world.
