The countdown has begun for the completion of the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou, set to become the world’s highest bridge. Construction began in 2021 and is scheduled to wrap up by June 2025. Spanning across the Beipan River through the deep Huajiang Canyon, this impressive structure will stand at a staggering height of 625 meters from the canyon floor, reminiscent of the Great Wall of China. Featuring two main towers reaching 262 meters high, the bridge spans an impressive total length of 2,890 meters with a central span of 1,420 meters. Beyond its practical purpose of reducing travel time, the bridge connects isolated rural communities and attracts tourists to the stunning region. Additionally, an extreme sports center is planned at the canyon base to boost local economic activity.
