China: 16.2% increased foreign investment in January-July 2024

A steady increase in its foreign status was recorded for the seven months January – July 2024, according to official data. Specifically, China’s non-economic direct foreign investment (ODI) showed an annual increase of 16.2% to $83.55 billion (EUR 75.10 billion) in the same seven months, as official figures show. However, the rate of increase was less than the 16.6% increase recorded in the first half of 2024. In January – July 2024, cooperation in the context of the global economic and commercial initiative promoted by Beijing, a one-way zone (BRI) was strengthened, as ODI investments in the BRI countries recorded an annual growth of 7.7% to $17.94 billion (16.13 billion).
