Starting today, 24 July 2025, parents and guardians can submit electronic applications for the childcare voucher program—designed to support enrollment of children in nursery, infant-toddler, and preschool centres for the 2026–2027 academic year. The initiative covers facilities across Greece, including state-licensed daycare centres (KΔΑΠ) and KΔΑΠ for children and adults with disabilities (KΔΑΠ ΑμεΑ).
Key Change: No Income Threshold for Large Families
A major update this year is the removal of income criteria for multi-child families—those with four or more children—who apply for vouchers for preschools and infant-toddler centres. These families will now qualify regardless of annual income.
For all other applicants, eligibility remains based on socioeconomic factors—including household income—calculated using 2025 tax data. Additional documentation is required for single-parent households, families in mourning, parents or children with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.
How to Apply
All applications and supporting documents must be submitted exclusively online via the dedicated platform on the website of the Hellenic Corporation for Local Development and Self-Government (EETAA), using the applicant’s personal Taxisnet credentials. Most information is automatically retrieved through integrated government systems; however, applicants are advised to carefully review their submissions and attach any missing certificates if needed.
Budget and Coverage
The program’s total budget stands at €393 million. It funds childcare services in public and private nurseries and preschools, creative employment programs for children and adolescents through KΔΑΠ, and inclusive participation in KΔΑΠ ΑμεΑ.
Anastasios Mavridis, CEO of EETAA, confirmed in an interview with ERT that over 100,000 applications have already been received.
Application Timeline
The application window closes on 5 August 2025. Provisional beneficiary lists are expected by 10 August, followed by a formal objection period from 11 to 13 August. During this time, applicants may submit missing documentation. Final results are scheduled for publication on 17 August.
Voucher Flexibility
Approved vouchers can be used at participating public or private nurseries, preschools, KΔΑΠ, or KΔΑΠ ΑμεΑ centres nationwide—provided those institutions are registered under the EETAA program. Should a family relocate for work or residence, the voucher remains valid and transferable to another participating facility for the remainder of its term.
