Chaos in Serbia as Police Raid Albanian Minority Team’s Locker Room

The event took place during the match between Mladost and Ternoci, where players from Ternoci claimed they were attacked by Serbian police. Veton Zeqiri, the Albanian captain of the team, stated that their bags were searched initially, and he himself was physically assaulted inside the locker room. Meanwhile, Serbian authorities announced that “the Bosilegrad police received information that some Ternoci players were carrying dangerous objects and weapons onto the field with the intent to provoke incidents. However, upon inspection, it was confirmed that no one on the team possessed such items.” Regarding Zeqiri’s claims, the ‘Srpska policija’ commented that “the team captain formed an eagle with his hands, intending to provoke.” This incident highlights the ongoing tensions between the Serbian government and Albanian footballers from the Presheva Valley.
