Chania: Life plus 30 years in father – “monster” who raped his two daughters from 7 years old

The case of two minor girls by their own father who had shocked the local society of Crete in 2022, revived today (28.11.2024) at the Mixed Orcto Court of Appeals. The trial was held behind closed doors after a prosecutorial proposal due to the age of alleged victims. The court found 41 year old from Chania, father of five children, unanimously guilty of rape with and without physical violence, without consent once and serially. At the same time, he was also charged with abuse of child molesters under 14 years of age and sexual activity between relatives from anniated blood relative, serial and serially and imposed a life sentence plus thirty years without recognising any mitigating. According to zarpamews.gr, the defendant with his advocate asked him to undergo a psychiatric inquiry with the court rejecting the request. The case saw the light of publicity at the initiative of the mother of the 38 – year – old father of the girls who when she learned what happened convinced them that they should report them. According to the complaints, the older girl has been raped repeatedly since 2014-2022, while the younger girl has been abused in the last two years.
