Chania: Hypothermia Likely Cause of Death for 21-Year-Old Yohan

in

An autopsy conducted by Stamatis Belivanis concluded that hypothermia was the probable cause of death for 21-year-old Yohan, who was found deceased on the White Mountains in Chania. The young man from Germany had gone missing for nearly a month before being located on March 14th. According to Dr. Belivanis, there were no signs of bleeding or bruising, and it is unlikely that dehydration or starvation caused his death due to the absence of such evidence. The most plausible scenario, considering the body’s position when discovered, suggests that he may have slipped or fallen, subsequently succumbing to the cold. The forensic examination revealed no trauma, hemorrhage, or injury of any kind that could have directly led to his demise. It should be noted that given the findings, this was an extremely challenging forensic investigation.
