An explosion occurred on Thursday, 23 July, in a ground-floor boat repair workshop in the Livadia area of Chania, Crete. One person sustained serious burns in the incident.
Following the blast, the building caught fire and was quickly engulfed in flames. Firefighters responded immediately to the scene.
The workshop specializes in repairing fiberglass boats and also provides ship inspection services. According to initial reports from Creta24, the owner of the business was injured in the explosion. As of now, no further details about his medical condition have been released.
