Starting 1 January 2027, new regulations will govern the contents of first-aid kits required in motor vehicles across Greece. The updated ‘pharmacy’—a mandatory safety kit every driver must carry—is set to include at least 16 specific items.
The requirement applies to all motor vehicles registered and circulating in Greece, with the exception of motorcycles and mopeds.
According to the Government Gazette (FEK), the new vehicle first-aid kit must include a rescue blanket, sterile dressings, and moistened antiseptic wipes.
Importantly, under the revised specifications, this is no longer just a basic storage box—it functions as a fully integrated first-aid station. Its casing must be resistant to dust, moisture, and oil. All components must bear the CE marking and comply with the EU Medical Devices Regulation (MDR 2017/745).
Special attention should be paid to regularly checking sterile items. The sterilisation expiry date—commonly five years from production—is clearly indicated on packaging and must be observed.
