‘Car of the Year 2025’ in Europe: The final list

The list of the seven finalists models for declaring the “Car of the Year 2025” in Europe, includes hybrid and electric cars. The 60 judges from 23 European countries chose 7 models among 42 put in the original process for “Car Of The Year 2025 ” with the final winner announced on January 10, during the Brussels International Car Fair. In September the first major test of candidates at Tannistest, Denmark, was held and now, after closing the first vote, the 7 models selected were (in alphabetical order): Alfa Romeo Junior, Citroen C3, Cupra Terramar, Dacia Duster, Hyundai Inster, Kia EV3 and Renault 5 / Alpine A290 (considered as the same model). From now on, the 60 electors will have 8 weeks to test the 7 models, which will in the end be assembled for a joint test at the Metett test facility in Belgium until the final vote on the title. The title of 2024 won Renault Scenic , which prevailed over: BMW Series 5, BYD Seal, Kia EV9, Peugeot 3088, Toyota C-HR and Volvo EX30. The seven finalists for the “Car of the Year 2025 ” in Europe: Alfa Romeo Junior, Citroen C3/e-C3, Cupra Terramar, Dacia Duster, Hyundai Inster, Kia EV3 and Renault 5 /Alpine A290. I note that Alfa Romeo Junior is available in Greece as Ibrida with a hybrid power system of 136 HP and an automatic dual clutch box of 6 relationships, as Elettrica with an electric engine of 156 HP as well as Veloce with an electric engine of 280 HP. The range will be completed by adding the hybrid four-wheeled version Q4, with an electric motor of 21 kW integrated into the rear system. Citroen C3/e-C3 just entered the brand exhibitions in Greece in petrol and pure electric. CUPRA Terramar is offered with five different driving sets options, covering three different technologies: TSI (gasine), eTSI (mild hybrid) and the new generation of plug-in hybrid drive systems (eHybrid), with power ranging from 150HP to 272HP. Dacia Duster is also available in Greece in several editions, the purely electric Hyundai Inster is expected within December 2024 and Renault 5 / Alpine A290 in early 2025.
