Scenes of horror unfolded in Paleo Faliro on Thursday morning (March 27, 2025) with yet another serious accident. The severe crash on Poseidonos Avenue left both the 20-year-old driver and his passenger hospitalized. According to reports, the young driver was found to be operating the vehicle without a valid Greek license, though he claimed otherwise. “I don’t remember how it happened. What matters is that I have a license. Yes, I have an Albanian license, and I’ve been here for three months as a tourist,” he told STAR. “I don’t recall leaving the road,” he added. The incident began shortly before 1 a.m., when the driver of the black car suddenly lost control while driving along the coastal avenue. Witnesses described hearing a loud bang, followed by chaos. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, where firefighters worked to extract the trapped 20-year-old from the wreckage. His 20-year-old female passenger was found outside the vehicle but suffered serious injuries. Both were rushed to the hospital. The impact was so violent that parts of the car were scattered across a wide area. ‘‘There was a loud crash, a pole fell onto the car. The engine was ejected, and the car was completely destroyed. Firefighters had to extract him,’’ one witness recounted. The driver admitted, “I think I was speeding.” Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
