Road accidents continue to be a major concern in our country. A new incident occurred on Sunday evening (March 23, 2025), on the Heraklion highway heading towards Athens. Fortunately, there were no fatalities. The accident happened when a car driven by a woman collided with a parked vehicle on the right side of the road and subsequently flipped over near Salamis (Three Stars). Bystanders and drivers quickly alerted the authorities. Emergency response units arrived at the scene, closing the road temporarily, while firefighters worked to extricate the trapped driver. It was confirmed that the driver was wearing a seatbelt and sustained only minor injuries. Traffic flow issues persisted until the vehicle was removed from the southbound lane of the Heraklion highway.
