The new Aesop and Aeolus under the Greek flag, with a capacity of 115,621 dwt built at the New Times Shipbuilding (NTS) shipyards in China, was received by Capital Ship Management. The two sister tankers have received the highest classification category from Lloyd’s Register, marked 100A1, following strict construction and maintenance standards for increased safety and reliability in operation. Both ships incorporate advanced technology to meet modern environmental and operational standards. CORVERSE They are the first newly built tankers to have certified AMP (cold ironing) equipped with an axle generator to improve EDI, CII and DFOC. (p. indicators and measures related to the energy efficiency and environmental performance of ships, in accordance with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) regulations. Ships follow IMO standards EEDI Phase III and are LNG ready, demonstrating their readiness for future energy transitions. In addition, they have the most innovative energy efficiency systems, such as VFD for large pumps and fans, high performance rudder, and have been certified cybersecurity by Lloyd’s Register, ensuring safe and protected operation. The Aesop and Aeolus tankers proudly raise the Greek flag, marking an important achievement, as they are the first ships with a Greek flag delivered by the New Times Shipbuilding shipyards.
