A chilling case of alleged cannibalism has shocked Hungary after authorities arrested a 30-year-old hospital transport worker suspected of stealing human remains from hospitals and cemeteries—and cooking and consuming them. Police raids on his Budapest apartment uncovered human bones, a complete tibia, the back of a hand, multiple skulls, and a preserved human face.

Gruesome Collection and Confession

During questioning, the suspect reportedly admitted being drawn to human body parts and confirmed he had already cooked and eaten some. According to investigators, he collected remains at his workplace—including morgues—and also exhumed bodies from cemeteries across Hungary and neighboring Slovakia.

Open Discussions and Photographs

Disturbingly, the man reportedly spoke openly with family and friends about his macabre fascination. He even photographed his collection—images that police seized during the search.

Arrest and Legal Proceedings

The suspect was first detained on 17 June and is currently under judicial supervision. Hungarian prosecutors are investigating him for disturbing the peace of the dead—a criminal offense under Hungarian law that covers desecration of corpses and graves.
