Canada: Justin Trido resigned from Liberal Party leadership

His Prime Minister resigned today (06.01.2025) from the Liberal party leadership, with him remaining in the country’s leadership until the forthcoming February election. Clearly moved, Justin Trido made statements today outside the prime minister’s residence and revealed that he is leaving the leadership of his party, a position he took over in 2013 and from which he managed to be elected Prime Minister of Canada in 2015. He then added that “the Canadian Parliament has long been paralyzed” and therefore called for the holding of election MPs, with the dissolution of the House on 24 March.
