The local community of Lamia is shocked by the murder of a 59-year-old businessman inside his café on Monday, June 23. A knife found at his home is believed to be the murder weapon. The 42-year-old suspect, who has psychological issues, was captured on security cameras as the last customer at the café Sunday night, shortly before the victim was found dead behind the counter. Although he hasn’t confessed, he admitted to an argument with the victim the previous day. An audio document released by Live News captures the 59-year-old shouting ‘Help, police!’ during the attack. Investigators say the killer attacked with frenzy, initially striking the victim at the café entrance and then dragging him to the back, hiding the body behind the bar to avoid detection. Medical examination revealed injuries from a heavy iron lock to the back of the head, along with knife wounds to the neck, sides, and abdomen. Authorities discovered blood-stained clothes in the suspect’s washing machine and numerous knives during a search of his home. Known as a devoted family man, the 59-year-old used his business profits to send both his daughters to law school and was eagerly awaiting his youngest son’s turn.
