A tragic end met a Brazilian influencer who passed away just hours after undergoing breast augmentation, liposuction, and nose plastic surgery last Sunday (June 15, 2025) in Turkey. Ana Bárbara Buhr Buldrini, the 31-year-old singer and influencer, traveled from Mozambique to Istanbul with her husband on Friday for the procedures she was to receive for free in exchange for promoting the hospital. Ana underwent breast augmentation, lip removal, and nose plastic surgery at the Tusa Hospital. She left the operating room at 11 p.m. Sunday; however, shortly afterward, her heartbeats began to slow down. “A judicial investigation has been initiated regarding the incident. The exact cause of death will be determined after an autopsy,” stated Abdullach Emre Güner, the health director of the Istanbul region, in a post on X. The official clarified that the influencer and artist ‘Ana B’ died Sunday in a private clinic in Istanbul due to severe complications during the recovery phase after anesthesia. Her husband, Mozambican artist Elgar Suéia, known professionally as DeHermes, told Turkish news outlet Ekol TV that the surgery proceeded despite Ana having eaten and consumed alcohol shortly before the procedure. “The doctors knew,” he said, emphasizing that she had made it clear on several occasions. “They told me to go to the room, the assistants were acting strangely. I waited 1 hour and 15 minutes to pick her up,” he added. “I went downstairs, and one doctor said her heart was beating slowly; another said she was already dead.” Turkish authorities announced the start of an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the Brazilian influencer during a liposuction procedure last week in Istanbul. In a statement, the clinic claimed the 31-year-old’s death resulted from cardiac arrhythmia when the patient woke up, without addressing the husband’s accusations. According to Turkish media, this aesthetic surgery intervention was part of a collaboration between the clinic and the influencer, who has 796,000 followers on Instagram under the name ‘anabmusic.’ In return for the free procedure, the influencer was responsible for promoting the facility. Turkey has become a significant destination for health and cosmetic surgery in recent years, offering prices often lower than those in Western countries. Last year, British authorities reported that 28 Britons had died in Turkey since 2019 following ‘voluntary medical interventions.’
