A disturbing video aired by Live News on MEGA TV on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, has sparked public outcry against Box Now, a major Greek express delivery company. The footage—shot by a passerby in Kiato in early August—shows a courier repeatedly kicking and hurling parcels, ignoring damaged or precariously stacked packages that tumble to the ground from a delivery van.
Widespread Concern Over Package Handling
The video raises serious questions about the handling of fragile items, with several customers reporting broken or severely damaged goods upon delivery—including torn packaging and shattered contents. In another clip captured from a moving car, the same courier appears to mishandle nearly every package he lifts, seemingly unaware he is being recorded.
Company Response: ‘Isolated Incident’ and External Contractor Clarification
In response, Box Now described the behavior as an isolated incident and confirmed immediate action was taken. Christos Papadopoulos, the company’s Head of Marketing and Communications, stated that the individual involved was identified right away and removed from all Box Now-related duties. Affected packages were replaced or compensated for without delay.
Papadopoulos emphasized that the courier was not a direct employee but rather a driver employed by an external logistics partner contracted by Box Now. “As soon as we became aware of the incident, we contacted the contractor, informed them of the situation, and requested the driver’s immediate removal from our operations,” he explained.
The company also cited internal quality metrics, noting that damage or loss rates remain extremely low: just 0.03% of all deliveries in 2024 and 0.027% in 2025—across 36 million parcels handled last year. “With millions of deliveries annually, some incidents are unfortunately inevitable—whether due to human error or misuse by individuals outside our direct control,” Papadopoulos added.
Nonetheless, customer complaints continue to mount, and the viral footage has intensified scrutiny over Box Now’s oversight of third-party contractors—a growing concern across Greece’s rapidly expanding e-commerce logistics sector.
