Bouliagmeni Incident: Clashes, 3 Arrests, and €3,250 Fine for Motorcyclist Who Tried to Flee Police Blockade

A dramatic police operation unfolded in the area of Bouliagmeni after a group of motorcyclists engaged in impromptu races and attempted to evade a traffic control checkpoint. According to reports and video footage that surfaced online, several riders ignored orders to stop at the police blockade located at the intersection of Poseidonos Avenue and Athinas Street. One motorcyclist performed dangerous maneuvers while passing through the checkpoint, showing complete disregard for public safety. Another rider initially stopped but then tried to flee when officers approached. The attempt failed, and both rider and passenger were intercepted and escorted to the side of the road. The driver will face a fine of €2,900 for reckless driving, driving without a license, and operating an unregistered vehicle. His passenger also received a €350 fine. These individuals, along with another group of motorcyclists reportedly coming from Perama and Keratsini, had been organizing spontaneous races. In addition to the fines, local authorities arrested three other drivers during the operation.
