A wildfire broke out on Monday, 13 July 2026, in an agricultural-forestry area near the local community of Tarsos in Boeotia, central Greece. Firefighters responded immediately to contain the blaze, which is currently burning in low vegetation.
Large-Scale Response Underway
A total of 40 firefighters are on site, supported by two ground teams from the 4th Emergency Response Unit (EMODE), nine fire engines, two helicopters, and two fixed-wing aircraft conducting repeated water drops. Local authorities, including the Municipality of Livadeia, have also contributed water tankers to bolster firefighting efforts.
No Threat to Populated Areas
As of now, the fire remains distant from residential zones, posing no immediate danger to homes or human life. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
Investigation Launched
A team from the Directorate for Combating Arson Crimes has been dispatched to the scene to examine the circumstances surrounding the outbreak and investigate its cause.
