Boeing fires over 2,500 of its employees in the US – sent the notices

Over 2,500 in U.S. states Washington, Oregon, South Carolina and Missouri are preparing to fire . This is part of Boeing’s wider plan to cut 17,000 jobs or 10% of its employees around the world. Nearly 2,200 fire notifications went to workers in Washington and another 220 in South Carolina, the two states where Boeing manufactures commercial aircraft. Boeing refused to comment on layoffs Monday. According to Reuters employees will remain on Boeing’s payroll until January 17, to comply with federal requirements for informing employees at least 60 days before they are fired. Another round of layoffs is expected in December.
