The trial for the murder of Antonis Kargiotis in Blue Horizon begins at the Mixed Court of Piraeus with four people accused of the tragic incident. CORVERSE On the stand are led the commander and captain, who are to this day imprisoned as well as his lieutenant and sailor Blue Horizon, released. The lieutenant is burdened with the charges of attempted homicide with potential deceit and abuse of power. The captain is charged with the offences of “the dangerous interference in the transport of a ship from which death occurred and the attempt to harbor a serial.” According to the prosecutor’s proposal, the captain is accused of giving the green light to sail the “Blue Horizon” with an open catapult, which is not allowed by security regulations. The lieutenant is charged with complicity, energy and omission, in a manslaughter with intent, carried out with potential deceit. While he had seen what happened, he did not inform the captain to stop operating the machines, nor did he even throw a lifeguard into the sea. CORVERSE With similar charges the sailor, who also committed violence against Antonis, then remained inactive. Antonis Kargiotis’ brother, Nikos, spoke exclusively to “You still didn’t see anything”. “Let my brother be justified for his unjust loss. None of the people involved called me to apologize. (We face it) difficult. And usually, especially when I face people who knew Anthony and tell me, Antonis helped me do this, in my work etc. We’re still mourning for my brother. It may have been a year and a half but for us it’s like yesterday, There’s no day when we don’t have him in mind and I want my brother’s soul to be vindicated because he left too unfairly and early. Antonis was a very good kid, he helped everyone, he had a very generous, he wanted to make friends, meet and meet new people and help.”
