Several clothing stores, restaurants, and supermarkets — both along Ermou Street and in surrounding areas — lost electricity due to the fault. Some retailers, including optical shops and food outlets, activated backup generators to keep refrigeration units running. Alarm systems also began sounding intermittently across affected premises.
