The modern techniques give the possibility to women who want to always have manicured nails through the so-called semi-permanent manicure.
The effect lasts longer than that of a simple manicure, it is more beautiful and more durable. But is it safe?
Recent studies have shown that the lamps-dryers used for the semi-permanent manicure, can have harmful effects.
The ultraviolet light emitted to become the polymerization of materials/varnish can even cause skin cancer, claim scientists.
Recent research of Georgian scientists in fact, notes that eight uses of the lamp is enough to cause damage to the DNA of the skin, which is the main culprit for skin cancer.
First in the list of the high-risk group is women who make semi-permanent manicure every week, which means that spend each and every time 10 minutes, under ultraviolet light, which dries the nails. This light emits UVA, high exposure to which can increase the risk of melanoma.
Experts, however, are reassuring and indicate that a woman who uses dryers nail is exposed to the same risks as those that lurk when driving with the car on the road. The solutions they propose for a safe manicure are the following:
-For normal nail polishes are preferable to the “traditional” dry and avoid the dryer.
-Women who prefer manicure with gel they can just ask from the aesthetic, rather than a simple cream, to the hand massage to use a sunscreen or a very moisturizing cream. Source
