Benefits: In March 2025 the application of the prepaid card to child benefit

At the end of the first quarter of 2025 the application of the prepaid card is foreseen in a series of social , according to secure information from the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family. In particular, OPEKA’s benefits paid through a prepaid card will be of the child (A21), birth, underwriting allowance and minimum guaranteed income. This means that allowances will be able to be drawn by ATM as cash, while the remaining 50% will have to be spent by POS. This measure is expected to help address tax evasion, as at least 50% of the transactions of the beneficiaries of the above benefits will be made through POS given their connection to cash machines, they will not escape the tax’s “radar”, resulting in an increase in VAT revenues.
