Belharra Frigate ‘Nearchos’ Begins Sea Trials

The Hellenic Navy received its first Belharra frigate, the ‘Kimon’, three weeks ago in a historic ceremony. Now, the second vessel of the class, the ‘Nearchos’, has commenced its first sea trials on February 4, 2026. Conducted by Naval Group, these trials focus on propulsion, safety systems, and primary sensors under real-world conditions. Crew training will follow at Naval Group’s shipyard in Lorient, France, shortly before delivery. The trials are progressing fully on schedule.
