Bayern Munich – Dortmund 2-2: Bavarians’ Title Race Extended in Bundesliga

in

Knowing beforehand about Leverkusen’s draw with Union Berlin (0-0), Bayern Munich aimed for victory in the derby against Dortmund to secure the title in the Bundesliga, with five matches remaining before the final. However, Bayern could not manage it, as they ended at 2-2 against Dortmund at the Allianz Arena. The Bavarians thus maintained a +6 lead over the “aspirins,” remaining the heavy favorite for the Bundesliga title. After a balanced first half, Dortmund opened the scoring inside the Allianz Arena in the 48th minute with Maximilian Bauer’s header. The visitors’ joy lasted until the 65th minute when Rafael Guerreiro beautifully equalized. Vincent Kompany’s team took the lead again with Gnabry scoring in the 69th minute. Dortmund, however, had the last word in the 75th minute, with Anton sending the ball into the net from close range for the final 2-2 scoreline. Bayern will now shift focus to their return leg against Inter Milan on April 16, 2025, aiming for a reversal after their 1-2 defeat in Munich.
