A bakery owner in Porto Rafti confronted and physically fought a thief who attempted to steal cash from the store’s register. Although the intruder managed to escape with over 500 euros, he was later apprehended by police in the same area. Speaking to Star, the victim emphasized his fear during the incident but explained that he pushed the intruder despite not knowing if the thief was armed. The incident occurred at a bakery located on Sotiros Street in Porto Rafti. Despite the dangerous situation, the owner attacked the intruder, trying to prevent him from escaping. His wife stated, “Things are very dangerous now; we’re scared.” Security camera footage captured the moment of the robbery. The man entered the bakery without concealing his features, approached the register, opened the drawer, and took money exceeding 500 euros. The bakery owner noticed the intrusion while working nearby. He grabbed the thief, and they struggled. The intruder threatened, “Leave or I’ll stab you,” before fleeing on a bicycle, making gestures as if he had a weapon in his pocket. However, the owner promptly alerted the police, providing them with a detailed description and details about the thief’s escape method, which led to his swift arrest.
