Coronavirus – Australia: New record of 1.126 cases of infection by Covid-19

Australia today reported a record 1.126 cases of COVID-19 infection, most of them in the state of New South Wales, which is the epicenter of the Delta variant.

More than 50% of Australians have been locked in as officials in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia’s largest cities and the capital Canberra, try to deal with the outbreak.

New South Wales, Australia’s most populous city in Sydney, reported 1.035 cases of COVID-19 local transmission, surpassing the record 1.029 cases recorded on Thursday.

The new outbreak began in mid-June, with the number of infections rising.
