Attempted Murder in Omonia Exposed – Two of Four Perpetrators Behind Bars

About eight months after the attempted murder of two foreigners in September 2024, the police have managed to uncover the case and identify four perpetrators. According to the police announcement, the double attempted murder in Omonia on September 23, 2024, was carried out by four men. Three are recognized as direct perpetrators, while one is considered the mastermind behind the murders. Both the mastermind and the man believed to have fired the shots are already imprisoned, while warrants for arrest were issued against the remaining individuals, with one being apprehended recently. On the afternoon of September 23, 2024, three perpetrators approached the victims in a car, opened fire, and fled. It emerged early that same morning that one of the accused, already detained in prison, had participated in a car theft from the Korydallos area. This vehicle was subsequently used by him and two accomplices to approach the location and carry out the attack. The movements around the attack site, how they targeted the victims, and the moment of the attack—during which the man who stole the car reportedly fired—were all clarified. Following an investigation, it was confirmed that the mastermind behind the case is a man already incarcerated. All perpetrators have prior involvement in similar offenses, and additionally, the mastermind has been charged with orchestrating two murders. The arrested individual was brought before the competent prosecutor and referred to an investigating judge.
